Girls Swim Team Wins State; Boys Take Second

This Saturday was a very successful day for the AMHS swim team. The girls team won their first over all state title, and the boys got second over all.

The girls broke four records in the 300 freestyle, the 500 freestyle, the 400 freestyle relay, and the 100 breaststroke. The boys broke six records: 200 medley relay, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, and the 100 breaststroke. New record holders include seniors John Pavilides and Olivia Kinsinger, junior Garrett Smith, and sophomore Annalise Hafner.

In individual races, the girls won second in the 400 freestyle relay and in the 200 medley relay. The boys got first in the 200 medley relay. Senior Elaine Zhou got second in the 100 breaststroke and Olivia Kinsinger got third in the 500 freestyle. Senior Cooper Pitts set the meet record in the 100 breaststroke.
