Welcome back to the Senior Spotlight.
Let’s start with Chase Sutcliffe, who was born on June 30, 2006. A resident of Mount Pleasant, Chase attended East Cooper Montessori Charter School and grew to really like penguins, even calling them his favorite animal. Chase loves listening to Radiohead, specifically their song “The Tourist.” In his sleep (or daydreams), Chase thinks about eating a lobster roll with truffle fries and a large glass of ice water. Chase is most known for his involvement in the AMHS Dirty Birds. His friend Joel introduced him to how fun it is to be part of a drum circle. When Chase came to practice for the first time, he was so grateful for its welcoming and supportive community. As Chase said, “I immediately felt at home in such a tight-knit community of dedicated, musical people like me. Shoutout Mr. Grimshaw for making it all possible!”
Natasha Keisler is a big fan of the Beatles and describes George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass as the soundtrack of her life. Born on September 10, 2006, Natasha lives on James Island and attended Charleston Charter School for Math and Science. Her favorite animal is a donkey. Natasha’s dream meal is a big, fresh, steaming bowl of tomato basil soup with, most importantly, “a good grilled cheese sammy.” Natasha is happiest when she is rock climbing outdoors or sleeping and playing guitar during lunch on her picnic blanket in the courtyard.
Caroline Spann was born on December 13, 2005. Also a resident of James Island, Caroline attended Buist Academy downtown. Her favorite animal is a panda and also has a similar interest in classic rock, citing The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie as the soundtrack of her life. Simply, Caroline’s dream meal is sushi, and her favorite memories at Magnet are of going to school dances with her friends. Outside of school, Caroline is happiest when she is traveling with her friends or family.
Rutledge Sander is our third James Island resident of this issue. Interestingly, unlike Natasha or Caroline, he attended Mason Prep. Rutledge’s favorite animal is a wiener dog (also known as a dachshund) and his favorite album is All Eyez on Me by Tupac Shakur. In his words, Rutledge’s dream meal is an “Osaka Dynamite roll🧨🧨🧨🧨,” and his favorite memory at Magnet is the Barbie-themed Wall Day the Seniors organized in the fall.
Lastly, we are featuring Coltrane Margosian, a resident of Mount Pleasant and graduate of Laing Middle School of Science and Technology. His favorite animal is a river otter and describes MF DOOM’s Operation: Doomsday as the soundtrack of his life. Coltrane’s dream meal is a single slice of white bread. His favorite memory at Magnet is “probably witnessing the Queen Elizabeth shrine in the downstairs boys’ bathroom with John McQueen and Kabir Zaman at the end of last year.” Outside of school, Coltrane is happiest when he is “starting beef” with his friends.
That’s all for now. Tune in next time for more Senior features (we may change the questions a little bit).
