In early January, Austin McBroom and Catherine Paiz, who run a successful YouTube channel with more than 18 million subscribers, the ACE family, announced that they would be getting a divorce on their social media. If you are unfamiliar with the ACE Family, they began their channel by posting family vlogs and challenges with their three kids. However, they entered into public disgrace as their image was riddled with controversy. From a boxing match scam to cheating allegations to a poorly organized festival (ACE Fest), the family can only be described as infamous. Although they have not posted regularly on YouTube over the past two years, Austin and Catherine both post daily on their Instagram and Snapchat.
However, since the divorce announcement, Austin began to post out-of-character things on his Snapchat story. Here is a rundown of some of the big things that have occurred:
- He started by posting he was trying to “get closer to the man [God] above.”
- He moved into an RV outside of Catherine’s home; however, it later got repossessed. And when it got repossessed, he tried to steal the repo truck but ultimately failed.
- He applied to and filmed his interview for a job at CVS. However, he was rejected and had a meltdown.
- He announced that he was accepted into UCLA (the University of California Los Angeles) and filmed videos in class.
- He got a new haircut, had his eyebrows threaded, and had a spray tan, all of which he cried after.
To stress how much he posts daily on Snapchat, here is what happened in the last 24 hours:
- He got kicked out of the Super Bowl.
- According to him, he attended the Chiefs’ after-party and partied with Taylor Swift.
- He woke up hungover and blamed Taylor Swift for being hungover at his brother Landon’s house and fought with him.
- He went to the gym and conducted what Austin may describe as a workout but what most others would describe as a public humiliation.
Austin was on the verge of tears in all of these videos and broke down in some of them.
In reaction to these weird Snapchat stories, TikTok users have posted videos memeing him. However, some have also posted videos concerned about his behavior and wondered if the break-up news had made him crazy. Since it does seem like he is spiraling out of control, and people did not know what to do about it, they decided to ask his wife, Catherine, about what was going on.
Instead, she ended up exposing him over her Snapchat story. In response to someone asking, “How do you feel about Austin living in an RV in ur backyard,” she said, “Wait, y’all really believe that?” And to the question, “Are you and Austin actually on bad terms or is it just for the snap lol,” “Bad terms? I made it clear that we’re on good terms…”
Although Austin claims to his Snapchat viewers that he is running out of money, which is why he is applying for jobs, working side hustles, and living in an RV, he is incredibly wealthy. Additionally, he is making a ton of money from the posts that he is making. Therefore, it is likely that Austin is acting like this for clout.
