On February 4, 2024, the 66th Annual Grammy Awards occurred. The performances by SZA, Luke Combs, and others were top-notch. This night is all about the music and the success of all of the nominees and attendees of the event; however, the fashion never disappoints. These are some of my favorite (or least favorite) outfits from the 66th Grammys!
Ice Spice
Ice Spice wore a denim and fur two-piece dress from the brand Baby Phay and Timothy Luke Garcia styled her. This outfit was very Ice Spice and she looked amazing. Her outfit is unique but she is giving rich and boujie. Even though she didn’t win any awards she was nominated, and she made a statement on the red carpet.
Taylor Swift
I will try and make this review of Taylor’s outfit as unbiased as possible; I am just kidding, she looked amazing on the red carpet—no complaints from me. The jewelry stack was beautiful and the gloves were classy. She clowned me for thinking we were getting Reputation Taylor’s Version. At this point, I am going to stop trying to figure out when she will release it. Of course, everyone knows that she announced her new album, The Tortured Poets Department. To hear more about her upcoming album and your fellow raptor’s opinions and predictions for the album go read Milla’s article.
SZA
Despite being nominated for NINE! YES NINE! Grammys, and performing on stage, SZA still killed it on the red carpet. A custom-made black velvet dress with gold accents designed by Andrea Brocca Alta Moda and styled by Alejandra LaPilusa was her red carpet outfit. Leave it up to SZA to have an amazing outfit change because, after her performance and the 5 minutes she had to change, she got to accept her award for best R&B Song, from her childhood best friend, Lizzo. She accepted her award in a gorgeous grey and black rhinestone dress.
Miley Cyrus
My favorite outfit Miley wore all night was her one-shoulder brown rhinestone dress. She had 5 outfit changes from the time she stepped on the red carpet, to her performance, to accepting the 2 Grammys she won. Now I wasn’t a big fan of her hair; it was very Miley, but it just wasn’t for me. I have loved her since Hannah Montana and she deserved both awards she won.
21 Savage
Not much to say except that 21 looked GOOD! An all-black moment with the sunglasses indoors… Love it! The details on the jacket and pants made the outfit feel and look rich. Very classy, and very simple, no complaints from me. He was definitely one of the best-dressed men on the carpet. Also, the picture of him and Taylor he posted was the best picture from the Grammys yet.
Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia stepped onto the red carpet with a vintage Versace dress that debuted on Linda Evangelista in 1995. The beads on the dress made the dress honestly, cause without them it is just a simple white dress. I still liked her look and she kept it very simple with very minimal jewelry and of course a red lip. Sometimes less is more and I think Olivia Rodrigo looked great and of course, did amazing on stage with her “Vampire” performance.
Boygenius
I will be completely honest, I have never listened to their music or really know who they were, but I loved their matching suits. They were matching from top to bottom on the red carpet and I think they all looked great. Very classy and simple outfit for the red carpet.
Billie Eilish
I absolutely loved Billie’s outfit. It was very Billie and I loved the Barbie logo on the jacket. She looked amazing and her performance of “What Was I Made For” gave me chills when I watched it live. Of course, she deserved the Song of the Year Grammy and I loved that she sent a shoutout to the Barbie cast and director in her speech because the song was such an important part of the film.
Noah Kahan
I have a special place in my heart for Noah Kahan and I really wish he would have won Best New Artist of the Year. Sadly he didn’t but for his first time on the red carpet, he looked great. I loved that he and his mom both wore all black and had the matching suit silhouette. Once again very simple and very Noah Kahan-esque.
Lenny Kravitz
I will keep this one short and sweet. He looked amazing and of course, I’m a huge fan of the sunglasses inside. Big big fan of this outfit and I love the all black that the men at the Grammys are rocking.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
This couple always looks amazing on every red carpet they appear on. I think they looked great and I loved John’s satin top underneath the suit with the big shoulder pads. Chrissy Teigen looked good but I couldn’t figure out what the pink at the bottom was supposed to be. Is it just big ruffles? or Is it supposed to look like a rose?
Jon Batiste
Jon looked okay on the carpet. I liked the outfit as a whole and I have seen him do something very similar before but I don’t know something about the silver glitter color and the fabric was not my favorite. He went unique while also keeping it simple. Overall probably a 5/10 for me it just wasn’t my favorite look of his.
Killer Mike
Now for the finale, I had never heard of Killer Mike until I watched this year’s Grammys. Once again an all-black suit with a silver pendant. To me, it looks like it is a rhinestone flower pendant but I couldn’t find exactly what it was online. Despite winning 3 Grammys, he was arrested a few hours later.
This was my first Grammy’s that I had watched in its entirety and it did not disappoint. These amazing artists nailed it on the red carpet as well as on the stage. And of course, look out for my review of The Tortured Poets Department after it is released on April 19th. Or before that maybe Reputation Taylor’s Version is we get so lucky, maybe, please Taylor. What was your favorite outfit from the 66th Grammys?
