What are celebrities sending to their close friends and family for Christmas this year? Even though it’s early, a few celebrities have already posted their cards. While some are really cute, others…are not. After learning that the Kardashian family decided not to do their annual Christmas card this year, I was curious about what the celebrity families who did make a card put together. Scroll down to see how I rank their cards (from worst to best)!
8. Prince William and Princess Kate
Let’s start with the good. I do like this photo because it’s different from what the family has done in previous years and it exudes chic, 90s vibes. It’s posed but does not look too awkward. The problem with the photo, however, is the obvious Photoshop fail. Prince Louis is missing his middle finger. According to a source close to the family, the two are both “embarrassed” that everyone thinks it is edited and were “shocked” by the public’s reaction. This photo leaves me with one question: how was this mistake overlooked?
7. King Charles and Queen Camilla
This decadent photo features the pair at Charles’ coronation in April. This card is a step up from last year’s, which was of them staring awkwardly into the distance in different directions. However, the pair looks uncomfortable in this year’s photo again. The crown seems too heavy for poor Camilla. The family’s cards always display the message “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year” in a red italic font, which I feel could be better.
6. Jenna Bush Hager
This is a cute introduction to a new pet, but the line “Meowy Christmas” is seriously cringe. While it may appeal to some others, it does not to me at all. Jenna’s son covering his face and her trying to get him to smile contributes to a genuine appearance. They seem like an approachable family, and this card seems like something you would get in the mail from your parent’s friends.
5. Kris Jenner
In collaboration with Shutterfly, Kris Jenner released her Christmas card in mid-November. This photo is adorable and displays her and her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, holding hands on vacation. The pink and gold are simple and do not distract from the photo, allowing their relationship to be at the focal point. However, Corey looks like he is trying really hard to look both tough and mysterious, but he is standing next to Kris Jenner, so that doesn’t work out that well.
4. Jason Kelce
Kylie Kelce, the sister-in-law of Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, posted an adorable behind-the-scenes video of taking the photo on Instagram, along with their final photo (above). Although I wish their outfits were more coordinated and that all of them were in the same ornament sweater Jason is wearing, it is still a warm and festive photo. Additionally, I love the antlers that they put on their dogs. It may not make my top three, but that should not take away from the fact that it is still so cute!
3. Hota Kotb
I also really love this Christmas card. It is both simple and natural. The family does not look awkward, and the smiles are so genuine. I love the cute snowflake art that frames the photo and the feature of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, near where Hoda works.
2. Tarek and Heather El Moussa
I am absolutely obsessed with this Christmas card! The photo features the adorable, blended family: Tarek (Flip or Flop- HGTV), his two kids, Heather (Selling Sunset), and the couple’s new baby boy. In addition, this photo matches her chic aesthetic. The matching outfits are so cute, and I love that they dressed up their dog.
1. Hilary Duff
This has got to be my favorite celebrity card this year. The photo is so cute and hilariously reveals a pregnancy announcement. I love everything about this card. The design is very minimalistic yet unique and rustic. I also like how the photos on the back each share an aspect of their children’s character or personality.
