Everything You Need to Know About Prom 2023

With semi this weekend, prom is just around the corner. Prom is a highly anticipated AMHS event for seniors who went last year and juniors who have yet to attend. Significant preparation and planning go into prom and the weeks leading up to it are an exciting time. You may have some questions about this exciting event. Here is everything the raptors need to know to gear up for April 29th.

Theme

This year’s prom is Great Gatsby theme. Think roaring twenties, gold, and art deco decor. We are hoping to bring glamor and excitement to prom night and a Gatsby theme definitely encapsulates this. Both juniors and seniors are familiar with Gatsby’s extravagant parties so this year’s prom is going to emulate some of this extravagant energy. Senior Laura Robertson says she is excited to “unlock her inner Leonardo DiCaprio at prom.”

Venue

Raptors can look forward to attending prom at Founders Hall in West Ashley. Founders Hall is a popular wedding venue because of its scenic views, convenient location, and spacious setting. For prom, we have access to a main room for the DJ and dancing, a porch for food and tables, and then an extensive outdoor space. I think this venue will be perfect for the raptors.

Food

Since most groups tend to eat before prom, we are serving a variety of hors-d’œuvres and desserts like petit fours. You will not be served a full dinner at prom, so it would be best to eat before. Get excited about Hamby’s Catering sandwiches and desserts.

Tickets

Prom tickets are going to be available on Revtrak just after semi so you can be prepared in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door so plan accordingly.

A Final Note

Though prom is not till April, it is not too early to begin making plans. There are many fun surprises in store for the raptors and April 29th will certainly be a night to remember. Start making dinner plans, coordinating your ensemble, and try to contain your excitement for prom 2023.
