Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer
Discussing the Second Trailer of of Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: No Way Home has become one of the most anticipated movies in recent memory. With only around a month until its global release, many wondered when the Official Trailer would release. There is still much speculation as to what characters will appear, but this trailer confirmed some of those speculated characters.
Confirmed Villains
This movie will see the return of Alfred Molina in his iconic role of Doctor Octopus. Based on the trailer it seems each villain is pulled from their universe before their death which comes while fighting Spider-Man. The red light in the center of his arms suggests that he was brought into this universe before his redemption in Spider-Man 2.
Jamie Foxx will play Electro again after his appearance as the character in the controversial Amazing Spider-Man 2. He comes with a new design which resembles more to Electro’s Classic look in the comics.
William Dafoe has returned as his most iconic portrayal, the Green Goblin from the first Spider-Man. In the scenes he is shown in the trailer, it seems he is the villain attacking Peter the most personally with one of his Pumpkin Bombs being thrown towards Aunt May.
It is likely that Thomas Haden Church has returned as Sandman, however it is not confirmed in the trailer. His character is different as he was never truly a villain and did not die in Spider-Man 3, so it does contradict what Dr. Strange had said about how each villain came from a world where they died fighting Spider-Man.
This shot also confirms The Lizard to return in this movie. It will be interesting to see if his motives are still similar to that of the first Amazing Spider-Man.
Doctor Strange
From the trailer it seems like the relationship between Dr. Strange and Peter Parker will sour after the botched spell to erase the worlds memory of Peter as Spider-Man. Strange tells Peter in order to stop the villains, that he must kill them as it is their fate in their home universe. This then seems to cause the two heroes to fight over which method will work to stop the 5 Spider-Man villains.
Overall, this trailer was a great way to create hype around the movie while also not revealing too much about the plot. This trailer focused mainly on the returning villains and not the possible return of some iconic heroes.
