Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team Beats #4 Team in the Nation

The Raptor girls’ varsity soccer team beat Grayson High School in penalty kicks last weekend. The game began with a Raptor goal just minutes after the starting whistle. This set the stage for AMHS to lead for the majority of the game. With goals from Maddy Carens and Abby Tickle Magnet was up 3-1, but Grayson managed to come back at the end of the second half. With the score being 3-3 at the end of the second half, the game went into overtime. Neither team scored in overtime, so the game was still tied. To determine a winner the game went into penalty kicks. Goal keeper Chris Sacha made a great save that aided the girls in their win. But, on the 8th PK, it was Megan DeLorenzo who secured the win with her penalty kick. This is a great accomplishment for the Raptors! Congratulations to the team!
