Ms. Taylor’s Final Farewell
An interview with our guidance counselor
Sadly, Ms. Taylor will be leaving Academic Magnet this year. The good news is she graciously agreed to give us some parting thoughts before she retires. In this interview, she reflects on her favorite memories of the Raptor community, and explains what she plans to do next.
Q: How long have you been at Magnet?
I have been counselor at AMHS for 8 fabulous years.
Q: What are your favorite memories of Magnet?
My favorite memories include seeing the excitement of students when they receive their college acceptances, watching students grow and mature during their four years here, PIE’s appreciation events (thanks!), and getting to know my colleagues.
Q: What will you miss the most about Magnet?
I will definitely miss our wonderful students, their families and my colleagues.
Q: What are your plans for retirement?
Sleeping later, playing more and traveling.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about retirement?
I am very much looking forward to not waking up at 6:15. But more importantly, I am looking forward to moving closer to my four grandchildren and being a bigger part of their lives.
Q: Any parting words of advice?
Students: Take your academics seriously but also make sure to take time for fun and spend time with the people you love.
There you have it! Thanks so much to Ms. Taylor for agreeing to participate in this interview. I know everyone at Magnet is going to miss her.
