The last Raptor basketball regular season games were held at Garrett on Tuesday. The JV boys’ began the night with an exciting overtime win, led by sophomore Nate LeRoy and freshman Nahom Gebregziabher. The Varsity girls’ team followed with a win of their own, beating the Lady Falcons 59-39. Each player contributed to the win with aggressive defense, spectacular rebounding, and phenomenal passing. Leading scorers for the Raptors were Lilly Schweickhardt with 29 points and Choral Linhart with 18 points. Choral only needs 25 more points to reach the 1,000-point mark for her high school career.

Eager for revenge, the boys’ team came out strong, leading 36-32 at halftime. However, with some tough defense and a tremendous dunk by the Falcons, they managed to pull out the victory with a 72-63 win. Leading scorers for the Raptors were Ben Sewell with 16 points, and Ben Redden with 10.

The girls’ varsity team has a game tomorrow vs. Battery Creek at Garrett Academy of Technology. This game will determine third place in the region before playoff start on Tuesday.
