Starbucks Barista Ranks all the Pumpkin Drinks
Which Pumpkin Spice Drink is the Best?
It’s officially spooky season everyone and with that comes the rise of pumpkin spice at Starbucks. As your local Starbucks barista, I consider myself qualified to rank all of the pumpkin drinks available based solely on taste. (This does not include secret menu drinks)
5. The Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino
In 5th/last place in the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. This drink does not make sense. Pumpkin spice is a flavor that gives you those comforting fall vibes. Blending it with ice ruins that. It’s just a weird combination overall.
4. The Pumpkin Spice Steamer
In 4th place is the Pumpkin Spice Steamer. Let’s be honest on this one. It’s really nothing special. It’s made with steamed milk and our pumpkin spice sauce with whipped cream and pumpkin spice on top. Basically, this drink is a Pumpkin Spice Latte without the espresso, which in my opinion does not work. The bitterness of the espresso is needed to balance out the sweetness of the pumpkin spice sauce. If you’re not in the mood for caffeine, just order a decaf Pumpkin Spice Latte, even though it has the smallest, unnoticeable bit of caffeine, because this drink is really unnecessary.
3. The Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte
In 3rd place is the Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte. What I don’t like about this drink is the fact that it’s iced. Like I said before, it is kind of strange for classic fall drink to be in an iced form. However, it tastes better than the frappuccino, and I would order this over the steamer.
2. The Pumpkin Cream Cold brew
In 2nd place is the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Despite of what I said about iced drinks being strange considering the fact that it’s fall season, this drink is just really good, in my opinion. The pumpkin cream is a smooth, foamy texture, and the sweetness works well with the bitterness of the cold brew. It’s also really pretty.
1. The Pumpkin Spiced Latte
In 1st place in the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte. Yes, I know. How very basic of me. However, there in nothing better in the fall time than a hot pumpkin spice latte. As basic as this drink is, its the perfect combination. The bitterness of the espresso blends perfectly with the pumpkin sauce, and combining that with smooth steamed milked, topped with whipped cream that melts into the drink, making it the ideal fall drink.
