Public figures who have tested positive for the Coronavirus
COVID-19 is spreading like wildfire, and some beloved (and not so beloved) celebrities have not been spared in the proliferation of the deadly virus. If you’re bored at home (which I know you are), keep reading for an in-depth analysis at some of our nation’s most recognizable names that have found themselves under the weather due to the Coronavirus.
- Idris Elba
On March 16, the beloved actor Idris Elba posted to social media that he had contracted the virus, saying “Listen, I’m doing OK,” appearing with his wife Sabrina Elba, who later also tested positive. He gave us an update on Thursday on Twitter as he said “Sab and I still feel okay so far with no changes. Dr told us that after the quarantine we will be immune for a certain time since our antibodies fought this.” We believe in you, Idris.
- Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
We learned at the beginning of the month that two of America’s most cherished actors had tested positive for the coronavirus – leading to a loss of morale by the public. Yesterday it was revealed that the couple returned to the United States after spending two weeks in quarantine in Australia. The Forrest Gump actor gave the nation some wise words of encouragement as he tweeted out, “Going to take a while, but if we take care of eachother, help where we can, and give up some comforts… this, too, shall pass. We can figure this out.” THANK YOU Mr. Hanks. I already feel 10x better.
- Colton Underwood
Former Bachelor Colton Underwood revealed earlier this week that he too has joined the club of famous individuals that were not spared by the brutal disease. We are super worried about Colton as he told People magazine last week, “I’m doing OK, but it’s still hard to breathe. I feel like I only have access to about twenty percent of my lungs. My breath is shorter, and I’ve had to train myself to talk differently with my breath. And I have to lie down and rest a lot.” Colton, sweetie, we are worried about you. If you have no other motivation to stay at home, do it for Colton.
- Harvey Weinstein
When I said some not-so-beloved celebrities have contracted the virus, I was talking about Harvey Weinstein. The recently convicted rapist has tested positive for the coronavirus as he resided in a prison in New York, and has now been moved to a maximum security prison where he is in quarantine with the seven staff members that previously came in contact with him. Well ladies and gents, when they say karma’s a witch, they are not lying.
- Prince Charles
As of yesterday, we were informed that the Prince of Wales was experiencing mild symptoms and overall in good health. He is now self-isolating in Scotland and not keeping up with his normally high-profile schedule of events and appearances. We are sending all our love out to Prince Charles and the royal family for his speedy recovery.
