The Academic Magnet boys’ and girls’ basketball teams began their regular season Tuesday, December 2nd. Each of the four teams, JV Girls, JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys, squared off against Stall High School, a non-conference rival. Although the Raptors were unable to pull out a victory, fans still witnessed the excitement of each game. The JV girls and the JV boys began the night with close losses. The JV boys were within two points with only a few seconds left, but Stall made some free throws to put the game out of reach. Varsity girls suffered a tough loss in their opener, but played tough defense throughout the match. The varsity boys finished out the night with a close loss of only 10 points. The game was fast-paced and fans had much to cheer about from the tie score at half to the many blocks and electric offenses.
