Meet The Foreign Exchange Students: Radovan, Jule, Kap, Jarede, Sabine, and Matilda
This school year, Magnet is lucky enough to host six foreign exchange students from all around the world. Jule is from Germany, Jarede from Brazil, Radovan from Slovakia, Kap from Thailand, Sabine from the Netherlands, and Matilda from Denmark. They all said that they miss their family and friends and noticed that the weather and people in America are different from their home country. They all like American food, Radovan having a favorite of steak and BBQ ribs, while Jarede enjoys doughnuts, and Matilda prefers pizza from Mellow Mushroom. Jule, Radovan, Sabine, Matilda, and Kap have been studying English for many years, while Jarede has only taken one year of English and came to America to improve his speaking. They all had different reasons for coming to America. Jule wanted to study English in England, but decided that she preferred to leave Europe and come to America. Kap wanted to experience American culture. Sabine believes her visit to America will help her become more independent, while Matilda wanted to come to America after her friend visited the USA the previous year. Jarede wants to become a better English speaker for his business future and Radovan has a desire to improve his English. Jarede has never visited any countries outside of Brazil, while Jule, Radovan, Sabine, Matilda, and Kap have to been to many other countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Radovan and Jarede played football since it’s not as popular in Europe or Brazil, while Matilda participated on the swim team. Jarede and Sabine joined Key Club, Jule is a member of the Dirty Birds, and Sabine plans to join the lacrosse team this spring.
