MidSeason Fantasy Football Rankings

An Updated Look into the World of Fantasy Football

Rams running back Todd Gurley leads all NFL running backs in fantasy points this year

These are our position rankings after the midway point of the Fantasy Football season.

Quarterbacks:

  1. Patrick Mahomes
  2. Jared Goff
  3. Drew Brees
  4. Matt Ryan
  5. Cam Newton
  6. Andrew Luck
  7. Cam Newton
  8. Desaun Watson
  9. Ben Roethlisberger
  10. Aaron Rodgers

While there are some unexpected newcomers to the upper echelon of fantasy quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff, it’s become clear that established players like Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are still reliable options. The quarterback position has been somewhat variable this season with many of our top 10 players turning in stellar performances one week and average the next. Nevertheless, you should still feel comfortable with the quarterback position if you own any of these players.

Running Backs:

  1. Todd Gurley
  2. Saquon Barkley
  3. Alvin Kamara
  4. James Conner
  5. Kareem Hunt
  6. Melvin Gordon
  7. Ezekiel Elliot
  8. Christian McCaffrey
  9. James White
  10. Tevin Coleman

Todd Gurley continues to be the front-runner for the first place RB. He’s been living up to the high expectations and the Rams high-powered offense doesn’t seem to be dwindling out any time soon. Second overall pick Saquon Barkley has posted impressive numbers throughout the early part of the season as well even in the midst of an underperforming Giants team.

Receivers:

  1. Deandre Hopkins
  2. Michael Thomas
  3. Adam Thielen
  4. Julio Jones
  5. Antonio Brown
  6. Odell Beckham Jr
  7. Tyreek Hill
  8. Brandin Cooks
  9. Davante Adams
  10. Mike Evans

Wide receiver standouts Deandre Hopkins and Antonio Brown have had impressive starts to the season so far. Meanwhile, Vikings receiver Adam Thielen has logged multiple games of 100 plus receiving yards, a telling statistic of his high fantasy value. OBJ and Mike Evans fall near the bottom of the top ten as they’ve been dealing with mediocre quarterback play that lowers their fantasy value.

Tight Ends:

  1. Travis Kelce
  2. Zac Ertz
  3. George Kittle
  4. O.J. Howard
  5. Jimmy Graham
  6. Kyle Rudolph
  7. Eric Ebron
  8. Rob Gronkowski
  9. Greg Olsen
  10. David Njoku

Travis Kelce and Zac Ertz have established themselves as the most reliable tight ends this season. On the contrary, Eric Ebron and George Kittle have showed big play potential but have been unable to consistently turn in big performances. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been sidelined with a number of injuries the past few weeks but may be poised for a big second half of the season.

Defenses

  1. Bears
  2. Vikings
  3. Rams
  4. Texans
  5. Ravens
  6. Broncos
  7. Seahawks
  8. Jets
  9. Panthers
  10. Redskins

The Bears may have solidified themselves as the most dominant defense in football thus far, in large part due to the preseason acquisition of Khalil Mack. A well rounded Texans defense also makes our top 5 while the Redskins round out the top 10.
