Spring Break Adventures

Carly Hall and her mule!

Many of our fellow AMHS went on amazing trips over Spring Break. Some popular vacation spots were Europe, the Grand Canyon, Mexico, and other tropical locations. Spring Break is a time for us to explore the world and have lots of fun with family and friends. Even though Charleston is a popular Spring Break spot with lots to do (see my last article for fun Charleston plans), sometimes going on vacation is relaxing and a good change of scenery. Here are just three stories of AMHS students who went on vacation both domestically and abroad.

Carly Hall (12)

Where did you go over break?

“I went to Canada to ski and the Grand Canyon to sight see.”

Who did you go with?

“My family, but not my brother because his spring break was a different week.”

What was your favorite part of either of your trips?

“My overall favorite part was definitely when I got to ride a mule around the Grand Canyon cliffs and feed it an apple”

Overall, on a scale of 1-10 what would you give your trip?

“hmm probably a solid 7”

Mary Claire Newsom (12)

Where did you go over break?

“Cancun, Mexico”

Who did you go with?

“My family”

What was your favorite part?

“I really enjoyed going to La Isla de Mujeres! There was a private beach and we rented a golf cart to drive around the island and got to explore a lot.”

Overall, on a scale of 1-10 what would you give your trip?

“Probably a 9 because it would be a 10 but I was just with my family and not with any friends”

Annalise Hafner (12)

Where did you go over break?

“I went to Italy, Monaco, France and Spain. In Italy we went to the Cinque Terre and hiked around the Mediterranean coast and walked around Monaco City as well. In France we shopped in Nice and St. Paul de Vence. In Barcelona, Spain we went to the Segrada Familia which is a famous basilica.”

Who did you go with?

“I went with the school group, but mostly just hung out with Carolyn Prickett (12), San Kendall (12), and Lyle Johnson (11).”

What was your favorite part?

“My favorite part was probably the Cinque Terre in Italy:)”

Overall, on a scale of 1-10 what would you give your trip?

“I would give me whole trip a 10. It was amazing and so much fun!”

These three seniors went on very different, but all very fun trips during their week off. Some went with their family and others went with friends. Any trip over Spring Break is an amazing opportunity to explore the world and try new things!
