Nathan and Eva
Last time we talked to Eva Leach, a senior at Magnet, was in March of 2017 when we interviewed her about her shared YouTube channel with her brother, titled “Nathan and Eva.” The channel has been extremely successful with almost 90 thousand subscribers. In the previous article about Nathan and Eva’s channel, we interviewed Eva about her past successes and how she achieved such a well-known channel. However, in this article we talked to her about what she has done since then to further her channel and how she thinks her channel will play a part in her future and her career.
1.What have you done to advance your career with music since we last talked to you in March?
“We are trying to do one gig per week and we are working with a local producer named Andy Dickenson. He is helping us produce an EP, a smaller album, once he is finished working with a bigger band. Until then, we are focusing on our channel and gigs.”
2. Where have you performed? How did that affect your channel?
“We did a charity concert for my thesis and performed at The Pour House. It didn’t really affect the channel as a whole but the crowd was local so it got our channel some more local exposure.”
3. How do you see your YouTube channel affecting your college experience?
“I am staying closer to home for college so that I can be close to my brother so that we can keep doing music, so I guess our success with the YouTube channel makes me want to do music as a full time career.”
4. How do you think your channel will inspire your career?
“I want to be a full time musician and go on tour. In order to accomplish this, we are trying to take baby steps and get to know people in town and in the music business first.”
5. Do you have any advice for anyone looking to start a career via YouTube?
“Don’t try to be something you aren’t and be genuine. Being yourself will show people that you are dedicated and truly passionate. Don’t try to fake something you can’t do. Also, post videos regularly so that your fans are given new info and be nice to your fans and commenters. Keeping up with fans through social media can further boost your popularity.”
6. Do you have any sneak peeks for your fans about upcoming videos?
“Nathan and I are releasing an original song soon and possibly a music video, so be on the lookout!”
