As opening day has come and gone and the 2017 baseball season is under way, fans are extremely excited for the season and what will come this year.  The Chicago Cubs are coming off of a historic season and hope to pick up where they left off.  The Cleveland Indians made history as well last season, but sadly pulled a Golden State Warriors move to give the Cubs the World Series Title.  The Cubs were the favorites to capture their second National League pennant, while the Boston Red Sox are the favorites to win the American League pennant.  

The Boston Red Sox have a very young roster this year and seem to have a very good shot at the title this year.  With weak teams in their division they should have no problem beating out the rest of their division to come in first place in the American League East.  In the AL Central, the Cleveland Indians will squeak out the number one spot over the Detroit Tigers who will likely take the American League wild card spot.  The Indians have a young roster that can score a lot of runs with an excellent pitching staff and the Tigers are once again led by their boy Miguel Cabrera.  The Houston Astros have a great pitching staff and have a rookie, Yulieski Gurriel, who the fans hope will have an amazing first season.  In the National League, there are a ton of very good teams with a young talent which will likely create a lot of excitement for the fans.  The Washington Nationals are led by Bryce Harper who hopes to pick up where he left off last season.  No one really has a chance at beating the Cubs in their division, better yet during the playoffs.  The Nationals and the Dodgers may give the Cubs a run for their money, but Chicago will likely come out on top.  

In the playoffs, the Red Sox and the Indians will probably duke it out for the American League championship.  On the other side, the Cubs and the Nationals are the favorites to play for the National League Championship.  Although it is possible, the Indians and the Cubs will probably not play for the world series title this season.  As the Red Sox seem to have the best roster and great pitching, they have the best shot at making it to the World Series.  But who will be their opposition?  With everyone riding the Cubs reign from last season, it will be very hard to repeat and keep up their incredible play.  The Washington Nationals will defeat them in a long series and become the NLCS champion.  In the World Series, the Boston Red Sox will easily defeat the Nationals as they are the far superior team and will win their first World Series since 2014.
