Geo the Great German Shepard

In Essex, England a young boy has a German Shepard puppy to thank for his life. Charlie Riley, his mother, two brothers and 7 month old dog were waiting at a street corner when a truck came onto the pavement, heading straight for Charlie. Geo, his faithful dog, jumped forward and pushed the 10 year old boy out of the way, taking the impact of the truck himself. Geo was then hit once more before the driver sped off. The German Shepherd-collie mix suffered a broken leg, fractured spine and bruising, costing the family over $16,000. Charlie’s mother said, “If it wasn’t for Geo I am 100 per cent sure it would’ve been Charlie”. The family set up a paypal account to allow donations from those touched by the selfless pup. The hit and run driver was reported to the police but never arrested. Despite the dog’s severe injuries, the Riley family said, “It wasn’t a question of getting him put down. We want him fixed no matter what it costs. He’s family”.
