Teen, Alexis Manigo, or as she was originally named ,Kamiyah Mobley, was recently approached with some alarming news. The 18 year old case of a missing newborn from Jacksonville, Florida came to a close as DNA evidence proved that Alexis Manigo of Walterboro South Carolina was really Kamiyah Mobley born to Craig Aiken and Shanara Mobley in July 1998. She was taken by Gloria Williams, who dressed a nurse, snatched her from the hospital on the day she was born. Unaware of her past, Alexis grew up with a relatively normal life, claiming she felt “blessed” to have a mother who loved her so much. She was given all the normal childhood experiences, visiting the zoo, attending school, going to the park, all with the woman who she thought was her mother. Reflecting back, she thought it only slightly odd at the time she never had a license or social security number, however it now seems to all make sense.
Since Alexis’ reunion with her biological parents, she has enjoyed catching up and feels as if they are “distant family”. On an outing to the mall she called them Mom and Dad. Alexis claims that although she has experienced conflicting feelings towards her abductor, she still looks at WIlliams as her mother. It has remained unclear where Alexis will go from here, however it is known that as she proceeds she will be surrounded by those who love her.
