The iPhone’s Newest Competitor
Google has recently unveiled a variety of new devices. Among these devices is the new Google Pixel phone. The phone comes in three colors: black, silver, and blue. The phone has a 5 or 5.5 inch 1080 display, making it slightly larger than the iPhone 7, and can either come with 32GB or 128 GB.
There are many key differences between the Google Pixel and the iPhone 7. Google Assistant is built in to the Google Pixel and is very similar to Siri. The user simply activates it by saying “Okay Google” or hold down the home button. It provides quality service from complicated commands. Also, the Google Assistant is designed for image recognition, meaning that the user can take a picture of anything and Google Assistant will do their best to identify whatever is in the picture. The camera is extremely nice and has more megapixels than the iPhone 7 camera. The phone will also offer unlimited storage of photos and videos at full resolution. The Pixel’s battery life is significantly longer than the iPhone 7. Google says that a full charge will get you up to 26 hours of talk time or up to 13 hours of internet use or video playback. It is said that a quick 15 minute charge can get you 7 hours of battery life. The Pixel made sure to include a headphone jack, something the iPhone users are furious that the iPhone 7 does not include. The iPhone 7, however, is water resistant and the Google Pixel is not. Finally, the Pixel is virtual reality compatible, something that the iPhone and other Apple products are not.
The phone will release sometime in October and will be sold at $649, the same price as the iPhone 7. It will be interesting to see how many people switch over from Samsung and iPhone products to test out the new Google Pixel.
