In the last decade hip-hop and rap have become very prominent genres in the music world. Rap has not just influenced the radio with its catchy lyrics and driving baselines, it has influenced our school. This can be witnessed in Magnet’s Senior Lounge every Friday when a group of students gather to “spit hot bars”. Right now it is mainly seniors bumpin the tracks but the group is quickly growing and includes several juniors and sophomores. Don’t worry about a rap name just add a lil or big in front of your name and you’re gravy baby. Many different styles and flows are represented in the gathering, so come on and try your hand at the art of rap. Just follow the bass and holla what it do.
