Popular TikTokker and influencer “H00PIFY” is currently suffering from a vocal tear, a condition that causes his voice to crack and break when he tries to talk. This condition can be seen on his alternative account “hoopervalley”, where he shows the behind-the-scenes work and research behind his content. Hoopify typically reports on ground-breaking news and cultural phenomena circulating on the internet, utilizing dramatic vocal styling and sound effects to effectively inform and educate his audience. In his video “This is The HARDEST Worker Ever!” Hoopify attempts to use his iconic voice, but his vocal tear clearly makes it challenging for him. Fans were worried for Hoopify, as he is usually very dedicated to his reporting, and the vocal differences were very noticeable. The next day, Hoopify uploaded “h00pify will never speak the same again!!” which detailed the circumstances Hoopify was under. What’s very interesting is that this video is not voiced by Hoopify; instead, it was narrated by fellow internet star, Dillon Latham, who you might remember from his viral sensation earlier this year when influencer “Seadad” repeatedly asked him to do the “Dance With the Pants.” When looking at Hoopify’s alternate account, we can see that Dillon Latham had agreed to fill in for Hoopify that day while he was injured, imitating Hoopify’s iconic voice and reporting style. This was the first of many replacements Hoopify used during his injury.
Replacements
Dillon Latham is only the first of many influencers who have filled in for Hoopify while he has been off duty. Influencer “Cookie King” was next to fill in Hoopify’s iconic role. Hoopify’s entire experience recruiting Cookie King for the position was recorded on his alternate account, and the experience was starting to become a viral sensation. Influencers of all varieties began requesting to fill in for a Hoopify video, including the Costco Guys, “Big AJ,” and “Big Justice”. So far, neither AJ nor Big Justice has filled in for any Hoopify videos, but it is being reported on the hooperville account that they may be the next replacement. Influencers “Airrack” and “Vexbolts” followed Cookie King as temporary replacements for Hoopify, and performed extremely well in their roles in emulating Hoopify’s voice.
Joe Bartolozzi
After Vexbolts’ video, fans started to speculate who the next replacement would be, and many fans wished to see the massively popular TikTokker “Joe Bartolozzi.” Fans of both Hoopify and Joe asked in live chat and comment sections, and Joe responded in a clip from his livestream. He claimed that he had no time due to his anniversary with his girlfriend being that day, but it’s clear that Joe was not too familiar with Hoopify’s content or his replacements. Hoopify handled all of the research, scripting, and editing for the replacement videos. He simply asked his covers to read the scripts in the “Hoopify Voice.” Hoopify responded on his hoopervalley account with a polite video telling Joe that he respected his choice not to fill in for him, but that it would not take as much time as he thought it would. Sadly, it fell on deaf ears, since Joe didn’t watch any of Hoopify’s content, it was likely that Joe would never fill in for a Hoopify video. Fans of both creators were sad about the news, but hope was restored when Joe started his stream the next day. Joe said that he would do the Hoopify video, and fans were overjoyed. The next day, Joe’s Hoopify video on the viral “Chicken Stars” meme was uploaded to the Hoopify channel.
H00PIFY’s Career
Hoopify has grown by nearly 200 thousand followers since the beginning of his “career-ending” injury, and all of his filled-in videos have garnered over 100 thousand likes. The Hoopify channel began with Hoopify’s volleyball career. Hoopify used to be a D1 volleyball player for the University of Massachusetts, and began his channel reporting on sports news that he found interesting. Eventually, he moved on from sports-related content to general internet commentary, where he developed his content style. Over time, his speech and editing evolved; he would stretch out the final words of sentences to make them more digestible without making the sentence feel too long, and he would add sound effects to draw the viewer’s attention to specific details. Eventually, this voice became a joke within Hoopify’s community, dubbed the “TikTok Accent.” Instead of being offended by this popular comment, Hoopify leaned into the joke, overpronouncing every word in every sentence, and adding massive amounts of sound effects. This new style garnered him thousands of new fans and attention and captured many new viewers. Hoopify garnered so much attention that he created a new viral meme when, in one of his videos, he stated that “Livvy Dunne rizzed up Baby Gronk,” which became a popular brain-rot term for years to come. Today, Hoopify is at the height of his fame, and despite his tragic injury, he is still capturing the attention of millions of fans around the world.
Fan Reception
Fans have obviously been distraught over the injury that hoopify is suffering from, comparing it to famous cases in which injured athletes were forced to retire to recover from their injuries. A fan edit garnered 500 thousand likes, using a famous clip of former NBA player Greg Oden talking to an elderly woman about how he used to play basketball, and then walking away, clearly saddened and thinking about his past. Greg Oden was a former basketball player who was forced to retire because of knee injuries, and the edit compared the two events to each other. Hoopify’s viewer base has also slightly changed, since his injury has reached beyond his core fanbase; his typical comment section has become a parody of itself. Hoopify’s comment section is infamous for being the exact same regardless of the video topic. Comments like “Who bro talks like:” attached to a picture of a pigeon, become the most liked comment on every video. However, the new videos typically attach a funny picture of the creator filling in for Hoopify, and viewers are clearly enjoying the variety.
In conclusion, Hoopify is an amazing content creator, and we should all hope for him to make a swift recovery and return to educate us all on the latest internet news.
