Do you like to run? Do you like to help raise money for good causes? Do you like senior Maddie Claire Proctor? If so, Maddie Claire’s 5K run sounds like the activity for you!

For her thesis, Maddie Claire has organized a 5K run called Hope for HALOS to raise money for HALOS, an organization whose mission is to provide support and advocacy for abused and neglected children who are being taken care of by family members other than their parents.

The run will take place on October 10th at 9am at the Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant. It only costs $22 to register, and all of the money goes to a good cause! Additionally, register by October 1st for a free t-shirt! You can register online at www.timinginc.com. Packet Pick-up is at “Fleet Feet” on Houston Northcutt Blvd on October 9th from 11am-7pm. If you have any questions, contact the race coordinator Maddie Claire Proctor!

But that’s not all! Not only will there be groovy music playing at the race to motivate you as you run, but there will also be prizes to win! The top 3 males AND the top 3 females to finish the race will all get prizes. Even if you know you will not be able to finish in the top 3, there will be a Dry Tunes Speaker give-away and gift card drawings, as well free refreshments and KING OF POPS popsicles at the finish! There will be something to satisfy everyone, if supporting charity doesn’t satisfy you enough!

If supporting an organization that helps children and families in need and getting some fresh air doesn’t make you happy enough, supporting someone else’s thesis should. Believe it or not, everyone who graduates from Magnet will complete a thesis! If you haven’t needed other students’ help for your thesis already, you probably will in the future! Remember, what goes around, comes around!

We want YOU for Maddie Claire’s 5k!
