The raptors stands are filled to the brim with cheering fans.

The raptors stands are filled to the brim with cheering fans.

As Friday night’s game began, the stands stood quietly as they watched their Raptors begin the first game of the 2015 season. But by the end of the first quarter, cheers could be heard as the boys were ahead 20 to 8. At the end of the half, the score was 34-8 Magnet. After half-time, Magnet gained another 15 points with one touchdown in the third with a two point conversion and a touchdown with an extra point in the fourth.  The final score was 49-8. This win was the perfect way to set up a consecutive winning season for our Academic Magnet Raptors.

This win was assured with a game high of 155 yards from Nate “the Great” Schlosser and 101 yards from Andrew Alberg. Darius Nwokike had his first career touchdown on a rushing play. With our leading scorers and relentless defense, Academic Magnet’s football future is looking bright.

Our Raptors were cheered on by the Bird Cage. Led by Will Bridgham, Ben Redden, Jakob Cummins, Maddox Johnson, and Danny Cunningham, the stands were the loudest they’d been in the past few years. With these loud fans and winning the first game, what can’t our Raptors do? They’re next game is September 4 against Military Magnet at home!!!!
