On Saturday, November 4, the girls and boys cross country teams closed their seasons at the state championship in Columbia. Junior Colin Baker, noted in the regional meet article, was crowned victorious at state, running a 15:54 to lead off Academic Magnet. Senior Brett Schlesinger finished third and junior Lyle Johnson finished eighth overall, helping the Raptors to a runner-up position in group standings for the Class AA championship. The girls team placed fifth overall in group standings, though junior Kate earned all-state honors individually.
