The Elite team of dress experts at The Talon have formed an A-list of their most memorable and favorite gowns from this year’s prom.

First on our list this year is senior Riley Haldrup who wore a dress that reminded us of Starry Night. She wore the dress with celestial grace and truly lit up the prom. Van Gogh would be proud. wPictured with fellow list member, senior Margaret Gibson was chosen for her eye-catching dress that reminded us of sunlight hitting the water. She wore it swimmingly and fit right in at the aquarium on the Charleston Harbor as the moon shone down upon the waves. We’re sure she and her date (Jack Kulp, 12) had a swell time.er

These two juniors made the list this year with their bright, blooming dresses that captured the spirit of the spring season. Sarah Hand (11) and Mary Peyton Brown (11) definitely brought the cheery look of April flowers to the Aquarium.

These two seniors, Caroline Smith and Chandler Anderson, had two different styles, but both worked quite well. Caroline wore a bohemian style dress that brought a fun element to her prom group; whereas Chandler had a classy, more subtle look that worked equally well. Both were among the most stunning this year.rew

Junior Emma Rodgers, featured with her date Zach Swalhah(12), wore a gown by Midas to prom. She had a golden dress and smile that brought our attention to her festive outfit. With looks like that we’re sure Zach was feeling rich.dsjk

Selina Pi (12) and Sloan Nietert (12), with matching gown and bowtie, looked as if Georgia O’Keefe had painted the two before their special evening. Selina complemented her dress with a pearl necklace that added depth to her outfit. Well done Selina.

These next two juniors had contrasting dresses, but both happened to pique our interest. Hannah Jellema wore blue with gold accents that added an element of mystique, evident beneath the sun in the afternoon and under the stars as the night broke. Erin Atz wore a red gown with a high neck line that drew your gaze with its brightness. It caught your attention in an elegant manner: not too flashy, just classy. We approve.hdf

Liam Christiensen (10) and Chris Sacha (12) are fittingly displayed behind a rose bush. This was a perfect location for them to be photographed because, like Mary Peyton and Sarah, they both captured the air of spring. Chris’s dress was a pastel yellow enhanced with more brightly colored flowers above the waist-line.nfb

Ailish Sikes (12) dressed in a long 2-piece dress with a lace top and layered bottom. She wore it with grace and walked around all night as light as a cloud and fresh as snow in the morning.

ailishThe Talon thought all the ladies looked excellent at prom; these were just a few of our favorites chosen by the staff fashion experts.
