Lecrea Moore, known mostly by his rapper name Lecrea, released his 7th studio album Anomaly on September 9. Expected to sell 75,000 to 80,000 thousand copies in its debut week, Lecrea has indeed proven that although he wears his Christian faith on his sleeve, this does not hinder his musical talents from shining through or cause him to condemn others in his music. Lecrea has already won a Grammy in 2012 for his album Gravity and provides evidence why he was chosen in his new stellar album. From the musical simplicity of songs like “Say I Won’t” or “Dirty Water”  to lyrically intelligent songs like “Welcome to America” or “Timepiece” there is much to love in Lecrea’s style. His morals are refreshing to the typical hip-hop womanizing and drug loving saturated lyrics that have become commonplace today. Speaking of the title of the album, he told MTV in an interview, “My friends are all from different walks of life, I can exist in conservative circles and liberal circles, I walk in the hip-hop, pop and Christian worlds — I can still be me and be embraced in all of those worlds and that makes me an Anomaly.” Overall, as an album Anomaly has so far exceeded many expectations with its excellence and has already become highly recommended whether you are religious or not.
