Last month, popular ice cream company Ben and Jerry’s announced that its newest three flavors would be based on some of your favorite cereals. These breakfast for dessert inspired treats are named Fruit Loot, Frozen Flakes and Coco Loco. Fruit Loot is described as “Cereal milk ice cream with crisp fruity cereal swirls” and “it’s like if cereal, Saturday-morning cartoons and superhero pajamas were an ice cream flavor”. The Frozen Flakes flavor contains “cereal milk ice cream with crisp cereal swirls” and the company recommends that you “get out your footie pajamas, because this is a cereal-ous blast from the past”. The Cocoa Loco flavor is a “chocolate cereal milk ice cream with crisp chocolate cereal swirls” they challenge you to “remember those special mornings when Mom let you have chocolate cereal instead of the regular kind”. These flavors will begin to be served in mid-March, exclusively at Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops. Click here to find your closest Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop location.

Ben and Jerry’s flavor guru, Eric Fredette, explained in a release announcing the new flavors, “So why combine ice cream and cereal? Because the sweet milk at the bottom of a cereal bowl is arguably the best part. We wanted to take our flavor concepts and make people feel like a kid again, which is how we landed our Cereal Splashback flavors.” However, these cereal inspired treats are not the only new flavors Ben and Jerry’s have blessed us with in 2017. In February, Ben and Jerry’s announced that they would be creating three new non-dairy flavors. The new flavors, which are made with almond milk, include Cherry Garcia, Coconut Seven Layer Bar and Caramel Almond Brittle. The Caramel Almond Brittle is described as “almond non dairy frozen dessert with salted caramel swirls and pieces of almond brittle”. The vegan community was also happy to see popular flavor Cherry Garcia created as a dairy free option. It is made up of “cherry non dairy frozen dessert with cherries and fudge flakes”. The Coconut Seven Layer Bar flavor is a “coconut non dairy dessert with fudge chunks, walnuts, & swirls of graham cracker & caramel”. According to the press release, these flavors are now available at grocery stores nationwide. Caramel Almond Brittle can also be found at scoop shops.
