Senior Skip Day Tips

The following are some suggestions on how to take advantage of your senior skip day.

1. Go to the Coastal Carolina Fair: Grab some friends and head to the fair. Don’t forget your wallet because totaling at $35, the fair is no cheap venture. Keep in mind that you will probably want to indulge in the fried goods while attending, which will cost even more money. At the fair, your safety is always a priority, which can be shown through the new, well-produced rides.

2. Work on assignments and college applications: Although this may not be everyone’s idea of fun, taking your skip day to work on some priorities such as college applications and school assignments may be a good plan. Taking the day off and getting some work done can relieve a lot of stress you may have had otherwise. This option may be the smartest when planning your skip day activities.

3. Explore Charleston: Taking the day to get to know the city we live in can be an enriching activity for many. There are many things to do in historical Charleston including shopping, eating and simply taking a scenic walk. Glazed and Another Broken Egg Cafe are some of downtown’s hidden treasures, if you are looking for a tasty breakfast option.

4. Sleep: Getting some well needed z’s can be beneficial for many, when considering what to do on your day off. Being that this year’s skip day fell on the Tuesday after Halloween, many needed to rest up after a night of candy eating and fun.

5. College tours: This is another option for those who are looking to have a more productive skip day. Some colleges that would be suitable for a day trip include: College of Charleston, University of South Carolina, Clemson University, Wofford College and Coastal Carolina University.
